High Efficiency Dried Apricot Processing Plant

The dried apricot processing plant include washing, cutting ,drying, bagging, etc.

Dried apricots are produced from fresh, ripe apricots through processes such as pitting and dehydration. They retain the fruit’s natural flavor, aroma, and nutritional content. Dried apricots are widely used in baked goods, breakfast cereals, nut mixes, and other products. This fully automated dried apricot production line allows for customized process designs and is suitable for manufacturing various products, including dried apricots and candied apricots.

Dried Apricot Production Process:

1. Selection and Washing

Before production begins, fresh apricots that are ripe and free from disease, pests, and damage are selected as raw materials. Subsequently, the apricots enter washing equipment for thorough cleaning, effectively removing soil, dust, and impurities from the fruit’s surface.

2. Halving and Pitting

After washing, the apricots enter the halving and pitting equipment. They are automatically positioned according to size, evenly cut into two halves, and precisely pitted. The cuts are clean, and damage to the fruit flesh is minimal.

3. Pre-treatment (Optional)

To preserve the vibrant color of dried apricots and minimize browning and microbial activity during processing, some clients incorporate a pre-treatment step. Common methods include sulfur treatment and soaking in sodium metabisulfite. However, for the production of organic or sulfur-free products, this step may be omitted based on market demand, with methods such as low-temperature rapid drying employed instead to maintain product quality.

4. Drying

The pre-treated apricots are evenly arranged on trays or a conveyor belt and fed into the drying equipment. The equipment precisely controls temperature, humidity, and airflow velocity, ensuring the uniform evaporation of moisture from within the apricots.

5. Packaging

After drying and cooling, the dried apricots proceed to the packaging stage. Packaging formats—such as small sachets, family-sized packs, or bulk packaging—can be selected based on market demand, effectively extending the product’s shelf life.

Features of the Dried Apricot Production Line

  • The dried apricot processing plant employs a modular design with seamlessly integrated processing stages, enabling continuous production, significantly reducing manual labor, and enhancing production efficiency.
  • The dried apricot production line is constructed entirely from food-grade 304 stainless steel, offering corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning; it complies with food processing hygiene standards and ensures stable, long-term operation.
  • The automated control system allows for the centralized adjustment of operating parameters—such as temperature, conveying speed, and drying time—thereby ensuring consistent product quality.
