Production Process of Pineapple

Pineapple is a popular fruit, and besides being sold directly, it is also processed into various pineapple products, such as canned pineapple, pineapple juice, and dried pineapple. However, the processing steps differ depending on the final product. Below, we will introduce some common processing steps.

Common Pineapple Processing Steps:

  1. Cleaning and Sorting: After harvesting, pineapples will contain impurities such as soil and residual leaves, so they must be cleaned first. After cleaning, diseased and cracked fruits need to be removed to ensure consistent quality during subsequent processing.
  2. Peeling: Pineapple skin is hard and prickly, making peeling an important step in processing. A rotary peeler is typically used to quickly remove the pineapple skin.
  3. Cutting or Crushing Processing: Pineapples are cut in different ways depending on their intended use:

Slicing: For canned pineapple.

Dicing: For frozen pineapple chunks, mixed fruit cups, etc.

Juicing: When used for juicing or making sauces, a crusher is needed to grind the pineapple pulp to facilitate subsequent juice extraction.

  • Juicing (if needed): For processing lines that produce pineapple juice, the crushed pulp goes into a juicer and the juice is extracted from the pulp by pressing.

Choose the appropriate processing flow based on the type of finished product. The processing of pineapples is not fixed; rather, the process is tailored to the specific finished product. Below, we will introduce several common pineapple product processing flows.

1. Canned Pineapple

Washing → Sorting → Peeling → Slicing or Dicing → Canning → Adding Sugar Syrup → Vacuum Sealing → Sterilization → Cooling

2. Pineapple Juice

Washing → Crushing → Juicing → Filtration → Blending → Sterilization → Filling

3. Dried Pineapple Processing Flow

Washing → Peeling → Slicing → Blanching → Drying → Cooling → PackagingIf you would like to learn about the processing procedures for other pineapple products, please contact us and we will provide you with detailed pineapple processing solutions.
